Termeh Tablecloth and Runner: The Perfect addition to your home

Termeh Tablecloth

If you’re looking to make your home feel more like yours, adding a touch of your own personality through décor is the best way to do it. However, finding the right tablecloth can be tricky. Most tablecloths are bland and boring and don’t offer any distinct style or personality, so it’s hard to find something that speaks to your tastes and interests – unless you know where to look!

A Short History of Persian Fabric

The term termeh is derived from the Persian word for thin silk fabric. Termeh fabric dates back to Persia in the 12th century. Often referred to as Persian Silk, Termehs are traditionally made of finely woven silk with a satin trim or woven silk with a Haftsin or cashmere wool border. It can also be woven in tapestry style with various motifs such as Paisley and geometric shapes, which then might have gold threads intertwined. These luxurious fabrics were often used for clothing, but they have become increasingly popular on furniture decors such as tablecloths and runners even pillowcases!

A Step into Traditional Craftsmanship

The word termeh is derived from the Persian word tiram, which means needlework. This cultural tradition of embroidery and stitching a cloth has existed in Persian society for over 2,000 years.
It wasn’t until 2015 that design team Ava Ancient Arts came up with the idea of reviving this historic craftsmanship by combining it with modern home decor, and started producing tablecloths for their restaurants. With the ability to preserve ancient traditions while catering for our lifestyles, these decorative pieces are both authentically Iranian as well as uniquely Western at the same time. And today we present you with the Termeh tablecloth and runner – an exquisite piece of table linen that will make any dining experience more elegant.
The table runner measures 39 inches x 79 inches in size, whilst the table cloth measures 54 inches x 84 inches; providing you with plenty of fabric to spread out onto your tabletop without compromising on space or beauty.

Termeh tablecloths also offer a stylish way to set a table with an authentic Persian look and feel. Termeh means warmth in Persian.
Our runner products are also made from 100% hand-spun wool (termeh) cloth. They can be used as runners on tables or hung on walls or above doorways for an added dash of colour and personality.
