Termeh is one of the ancient arts of Persia. One reason Termeh is valuable is that the designs are meaningful. The bush design in Termeh (like Paisley) is the symbol of the cedar tree that is bowing to God. Termeh is an excellent and delicate cloth made of warps and woofs. They are made of wool or silk, the designs are original ancient Persian designs. Weaving Termeh is a sensitive, careful, and time-consuming process.

Termeh ironing and maintenance:
These types of fabrics have more longevity because of their higher density structure. Some colours, especially darker shades, are more sensitive to direct sunlight and humidity and they might change their original colour if exposed to those elements.
Washing this vintage Termeh tablecloth from the 1800s  with water and detergents and high-temperature ironing can damage the fabric. The best way to keep it clean and fresh is to gently comb it with a wet sheet of clean fabric and if ironing is necessary only use a medium iron setting with steam.
